I come from an eclectic professional background with experience in healthcare, research, and higher education and have served in a variety of both paid and volunteer leadership roles. Throughout my career, co-workers have frequently commented on my ability to read a situation, almost like a sixth sense. I now recognize this as a highly developed sense of intuition and emotional intelligence, skills that I believe most women possess. I have a PhD in psychology and am particularly interested in helping women tap into their natural gifts to enhance their leadership skills and positively influence workplace culture.
I am a certified leadership coach and completed my training through The Academies neuroscience-based coaching program. I am also a fanatic about workplace culture. We spend half of our waking lives at work and that time should be fulfilling and uplifting. No one understands this better than women. If you are in a leadership role or aspire to be in a leadership role, you are in a position to control the workplace atmosphere for many people.
Why I love the coaching approach
Coaching is sometimes confused with consulting or psychotherapy however, it is neither. In a coaching relationship, the coach supports the client as they develop their own future goals and inspiring vision. This differs from a consulting scenario where the consultant functions as an advisor, directing the goals and actions of the client. It also differs from a psychotherapy relationship in which the psychotherapist might focus on past trauma and emotional healing. I believe that only you know what is best for you and I want to help you get there.
